this tiny little Shih-Tzu whom I named Gigot. A year later I found him a playmate whom I called Sadie. We moved to Italy where they produced a magnificent litter. From the litter I kept Zampano who was named after the Anthony Quinn role in La Strada. Altogether, my little Shih-tzus spanned 22 major years of my life. Next came Savannah. Savannah was with me for 16 extraordinary years, and I call her my greatest teacher. Now I have a dog that I rescued named Shane. He’s been with me for four years and he’s so wonderful with all the dogs. I think he thinks my doggie clients are coming just to see him. He’s so lovable and such a character.

I am aware that your dog is as precious to you as mine are to me. It’s a joy and a privelege to work with animals and take care of them. Children and dogs show us how to love unconditionally. They are our greatest teachers.

My name is Ashton and I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I have a passion for animals, especially dogs, and since I have always had them in my life taking care of them is second nature to me. I’ve been caring for other peoples’ dogs in my home since 1990. They are, without a doubt, the best clients in the entire world.

I love taking photos of the dogs, and all but a few on this site are photos that I took while they were in my care. On this page are the dogs I’ve shared my life with.
